Ms. Bolaji Orokunle

I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Georgia State University and a Master of Science degree in School Counseling from Capella University.  I began working with Gwinnett County Public Schools as a substitute teacher in 2009 and this is my third year as a school counselor. School counselors have an essential role in designing a counseling program that will help address the academic, socio-emotional, and career development needs of all students.  I am passionate about establishing rapport and building trust with students.  This is essential for the work we do as counselors.  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one of my favorite modalities for counseling.  It teaches students to control their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors by challenging their beliefs about life’s situations.  In essence, we can help students learn to reframe the way they look at the world and encourage positivity.
